Chapter Chianti – A Bold New Design Retreat in the Heart of Tuscany

Book Chapter Chianti

A Timeless Tuscan Landscape Reimagined

Located in the heart of Chianti, just 45 minutes from Florence and within easy reach of Siena, Chapter Chianti occupies an exceptional estate spanning more than 99 acres of vineyards, cypress trees and olive groves. Set inside a restored 16th century borgo, the property offers an authentic immersion into one of Italy’s most celebrated wine regions. Here, winding country roads lead to medieval villages, family owned wineries and centuries old castles, while the surrounding landscape invites guests to embrace the slower rhythm of Tuscan life through vineyard walks, cycling adventures and unforgettable sunsets over the rolling hills.

A Contemporary Vision for Rural Italian Hospitality

Opening in June 2026, Chapter Chianti is the second property in the Chapter Italia collection, following the success of Chapter Roma. Developed by Marco Cilia, the project introduces a fresh perspective on Italian luxury by combining the comfort of an international lifestyle hotel with the individuality and character of an independent destination. Rather than recreating the familiar image of rustic Tuscany, Chapter Chianti embraces contrast, celebrating the dialogue between heritage and innovation while encouraging guests to experience the region through art, gastronomy, design and meaningful local encounters.

Contemporary Design by Tristan du Plessis

The architectural transformation and interior design have been entrusted to renowned South African designer Tristan du Plessis of Studio A, whose bold creative vision challenges traditional Tuscan aesthetics while fully respecting the site’s historic character. Original stone walls, vaulted ceilings and centuries old architectural details have been carefully preserved, then contrasted with polished concrete, sculptural lighting, steel, marble and travertine. Bespoke furniture crafted by local artisans sits alongside curated contemporary artworks, including commissioned pieces by artist Koketit, creating interiors that feel more like a sophisticated urban gallery than a conventional countryside hotel. Every space celebrates texture, natural light and craftsmanship while maintaining a profound connection to the surrounding landscape.

Eighty Two Rooms and Suites with Contemporary Tuscan Character

Chapter Chianti offers 82 guestrooms, suites and private residences spread throughout the restored medieval village. Accommodation ranges from intimate Baby Double rooms to expansive multi bedroom suites and The Mansion, an exclusive five bedroom private villa complete with its own swimming pool and generous outdoor entertaining spaces. Throughout every category, custom designed furniture by Tristan du Plessis, handcrafted Tuscan woodwork, marble bathrooms, organic La Bruket amenities and bespoke artworks create a refined residential atmosphere. Warm natural materials, earthy tones and private terraces overlooking gardens or courtyards provide an elegant interpretation of contemporary Tuscan living.

Three Restaurants Celebrating Tuscany’s Culinary Heritage

Dining plays a central role in the Chapter Chianti experience, with three restaurants and three bars celebrating both traditional Tuscan cuisine and international influences. The signature restaurant, Osso, showcases seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms alongside organic produce grown on the estate itself. Regional meats, handmade pasta, exceptional olive oils and celebrated Chianti wines take center stage, while relaxed outdoor terraces create the perfect setting for long lunches and memorable evenings beneath the Tuscan sky. Throughout the year, guests can also enjoy wine tastings, culinary workshops and immersive food experiences inspired by the region’s rich gastronomic traditions.

A Social Wellness Sanctuary

Wellbeing at Chapter Chianti moves beyond the traditional spa concept through the 500 square meter F.A.R.M. Social Spa, an immersive wellness destination designed to encourage both relaxation and connection. Travertine lined interiors house hydrotherapy pools, salt pools, steam rooms, saunas, a dry hammam and jacuzzis, creating an environment inspired by ancient Roman bathing traditions. Beyond the spa, curated experiences including truffle hunting, olive harvests, wine tastings, hiking, mountain biking and stargazing invite guests to discover Tuscany through authentic local experiences while reconnecting with nature.

Tuscany Through a Bold New Lens

Chapter Chianti offers a refreshing departure from the traditional Tuscan luxury hotel. By combining contemporary design, artistic expression and authentic local culture within a beautifully restored medieval village, it creates a destination where heritage and innovation coexist effortlessly.
