Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus - New hotel in Istanbul, Turkey
An Iconic Address Overlooking the Bosphorus
Set within expansive gardens in the prestigious Harbiye district, Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus enjoys one of the city’s most privileged locations. Just moments from the luxury boutiques of Nişantaşı, the vibrant streets of Beyoğlu and the cultural landmarks of Taksim Square, the hotel offers panoramic views across the Bosphorus while providing a peaceful oasis away from the city’s energy. Since opening in 1955 as Hilton’s first hotel in Europe, the property has played a defining role in Istanbul’s hospitality scene, welcoming world leaders, Hollywood legends and generations of international travelers.
A Landmark Reinvented
The extensive transformation marks the beginning of a new chapter for the longest-operating Hilton outside the Americas. Rather than reinventing its identity, the renovation carefully celebrates the hotel’s remarkable legacy while introducing contemporary comforts, upgraded technology, vibrant social spaces and refined guest experiences. Every aspect of the project respects the property’s architectural significance while adapting it for today’s luxury traveler.
Modernist Architecture Meets Contemporary Turkish Design
Originally designed by the renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in collaboration with celebrated Turkish architect Sedad Hakkı Eldem, the hotel remains a masterpiece of modernist architecture. The new interiors, created by Istanbul-based design studio Autoban, reinterpret the building’s 1950s elegance through a contemporary lens. Original features—including the iconic entrance canopy, handcrafted Çintemani tiles and the famous outdoor swimming pool—have been carefully preserved, while new materials, sculptural forms and bespoke furnishings introduce warmth and sophistication. Throughout the property, references to Turkish craftsmanship, poetry and architecture create a subtle dialogue between heritage and modernity.
475 Redesigned Rooms and Signature Suites
All 475 guestrooms and suites have been completely redesigned with interiors inspired by the colors of the Bosphorus and Istanbul’s ever-changing light. Natural materials including marble, wood, leather and brushed metal create elegant residential spaces, while many accommodations feature private balconies or terraces overlooking the Bosphorus, the gardens or the city skyline. Four exceptional signature suites—including the Imperial Suite, Presidential Suite, Bosphorus Suite and Ambassador Suite—pay tribute to the hotel’s glamorous history through individually curated interiors and exceptional panoramic views.
A New Culinary Destination
Dining plays a central role in the hotel’s transformation with an entirely renewed collection of restaurants and bars. Guests can experience Malva, celebrating Turkish culinary heritage through refined contemporary cuisine, Lalou, an elegant all-day brasserie, Sazzou, a sophisticated cocktail and jazz lounge, Arlo, focused on sustainable coastal-inspired dining, Dragon, serving Cantonese and Szechuan specialties, and Bosolei, a stylish poolside restaurant inspired by the French Riviera. Together, these venues reinforce Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus as one of the city’s leading social destinations.
Wellness, Events and Legendary Hospitality
The hotel’s iconic outdoor swimming pool—famously shaped like Conrad Hilton’s footprint—remains one of Istanbul’s largest hotel pools and continues to anchor the landscaped gardens. A newly renovated spa, indoor pool and fitness center complement the wellness offering, while more than 4,000 square meters of flexible event space, including the Ambassador Ballroom, Connie Ballroom and 17 meeting rooms, ensure the property remains one of Istanbul’s premier venues for international conferences, weddings and celebrations.
A Timeless Istanbul Legend Reborn
More than seventy years after welcoming its first guests, Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus continues to define luxury hospitality in Türkiye.
