Luura Cliff - New Hotel in Paros, Greece
The New Hotel Shaping Paros’ Next Chapter
There is no shortage of beautiful hotels in the Cyclades. What makes Luura Paros Cliff particularly intriguing is the ambition behind it. Set above Agia Irini Bay, on the western side of Paros, the new hotel introduces Luura, a family-owned hospitality brand created by Vivium, the investment office founded by entrepreneur Elie Khoury. Conceived as a multigenerational project, the brand places culture, craftsmanship, art, and a strong sense of place at the center of its approach to luxury. Opening in 2026, Luura Paros Cliff is the brand’s debut property and also brings Morgans Originals by Ennismore to Greece for the first time. Rather than following the traditional resort model, Luura is designed around the idea of a contemporary cultural retreat, where the destination itself becomes part of the experience. Its location reinforces that philosophy. Looking across the Aegean toward Antiparos, the property feels removed from the busier side of island life while remaining around fifteen minutes from Paros Airport and Parikia.
The First Expression of Luura
Behind the project is the Khoury family, with Sophie Khoury leading the creative direction. Her vision for Luura is less concerned with creating a recognizable hotel style than with developing spaces that feel rooted in their surroundings. At Paros Cliff, that means bringing together local materials, contemporary art, Cycladic architecture, gastronomy, and experiences designed around the island. The hotel is therefore intended to feel more like a place to discover than a conventional luxury resort. Its identity is shaped by the relationship between the built environment and the landscape, between international influences and the traditions of Paros. It is a model that could eventually extend beyond Greece, making Luura Paros Cliff particularly significant as the first chapter of a new hospitality brand.
A Contemporary Take on the Cycladic Village
Designed by Greek architecture studio Elastic Architects, the hotel takes the familiar language of the Cyclades and gives it a more sculptural interpretation. Whitewashed cubic forms cascade down the hillside, connected by terraces, courtyards, pathways, and shaded outdoor spaces. Rather than creating a single imposing structure, the architecture evokes the feeling of a small Mediterranean village overlooking the sea. Interiors by Lambs and Lions continue the dialogue between tradition and contemporary design. Pale stone, textured surfaces, natural wood, linen, and warm neutral tones create a restrained palette, while carefully selected furniture and artworks add personality. Art is one of the defining elements of the project. Works by local and international artists, together with pieces from the Khoury family’s private collection, are integrated throughout the hotel, giving the property the atmosphere of a contemporary gallery as much as a resort.
39 Suites, 19 Private Pools
Luura Paros Cliff is an adults-only, all-suite property with 39 accommodations, including 19 suites with private pools. Every suite is oriented toward the Aegean and designed with generous private outdoor areas, from terraces to gardens. The interiors maintain the understated character of the architecture, combining ivory, sand, pale stone, wood, and natural textiles. The emphasis is firmly on privacy and connection with the landscape. Private pools, open-air spaces, and expansive views allow the Aegean to become part of everyday life rather than simply a backdrop. The experience also extends to smaller details. Minibars feature local products and specialty coffee, presented with artisanal ceramics, while breakfast highlights seasonal produce and ingredients connected to the island. The result is a contemporary interpretation of the Cycladic suite: pared back, tactile, and designed around the rhythm of the Mediterranean.
Three Distinct Culinary Experiences
Luura’s dining offering brings together three distinct concepts, giving the new hotel a surprisingly international gastronomic identity. Mimi Kakushi introduces its acclaimed interpretation of 1920s Osaka, combining Japanese cuisine with Western influences, cocktails, music, and art. Its arrival on Paros adds a distinctly cosmopolitan dimension to the property. At Lenea, the focus shifts closer to home, with contemporary Mediterranean cuisine inspired by local ingredients, seasonal produce, and the culinary traditions of the region. Meanwhile, Luura Pool offers a more relaxed setting for casual lunches, drinks, and long afternoons beside the water. Together, the three venues reflect Luura’s broader ambition to create a hotel that feels culturally connected yet internationally minded.
Wellness Built Around the Mediterranean Rhythm
Rather than treating wellness as a separate amenity, Luura incorporates it into the overall rhythm of the stay. The program combines yoga, Pilates, breathwork, meditation, sound baths, contrast therapy, sauna, and tailored treatments, alongside a dedicated gym. Tennis and padel add a more active dimension to the experience. Selected treatments can also be arranged in the privacy of the suites, reinforcing the hotel’s emphasis on personalized experiences. The approach is deliberately holistic and closely connected to the Mediterranean lifestyle: movement, recovery, time outdoors, and the freedom to slow down.
Discovering the Island Through Its Culture
One of Luura’s strongest differentiators is its focus on experiencing Paros beyond the familiar postcard image. The island’s history is deeply connected to marble, ceramics, agriculture, and craftsmanship, and Luura uses these traditions as a starting point for its cultural programming. Guests can discover local artisans and creative practices, explore the island’s agricultural heritage, or venture out onto the Aegean by boat. Diving, windsurfing, sailing, and other outdoor experiences offer a more active perspective on the landscape, while nearby islands provide opportunities for further Cycladic exploration. The intention is not simply to organize activities, but to create a deeper connection between the guest and the destination.
Why Luura Matters
Luura Paros Cliff arrives at an interesting moment for the Cyclades, as a new generation of luxury hotels moves beyond the traditional formula of whitewashed architecture, infinity pools, and sea views. Its proposition is more layered: a strong architectural identity, a significant contemporary art collection, international and local dining concepts, a holistic wellness program, and a clear ambition to connect guests with the culture of Paros. As the first expression of the Luura brand, the property also offers a glimpse into what comes next. Looking ahead, Luura has ambitious growth plans, with a second Paros property set to open at New Golden Beach in 2028, followed by Luura Athens in the Koukaki district. The expansion suggests that Luura is being conceived not simply as a single hotel, but as a new Mediterranean hospitality brand with a growing presence across Greece. For Paros, meanwhile, Luura adds a new address to an increasingly sophisticated luxury hotel scene, one that feels distinctly of its time, yet deeply rooted in the island around it.
