Originally dating back to the 18th century, the palace has undergone a meticulous restoration, guided by French-Lebanese couple Joelle and Nicolas Delsuc. The architectural identity of Palais Beit Al Noor is the result of over twenty months of craftsmanship, in collaboration with Dubai-based studio UMA Interiors by Mia Derbas. The design celebrates the richness of Moroccan artisanal heritage while introducing subtle Levantine influences. Traditional materials take center stage: polished tadelakt walls, intricately carved wood, delicate plasterwork known as gebs, and vibrant zellige tiles from Fez. Floors alternate between marble checkerboards and handcrafted cement tiles inspired by Beirut’s historic homes. The palace unfolds around three lush patios, each animated by a fountain or reflecting pool, where light dances through moucharabieh screens. Above, painted wooden ceilings in geometric patterns echo the ancient art of zouak, creating a visual rhythm that feels both vibrant and timeless.

Twelve rooms, each with a story to tell

With just twelve keys, including eight rooms and four suites ranging from 17 to 67 square meters, the hotel embraces a rare sense of intimacy. Each space is conceived as a unique universe, divided into three distinct atmospheres: the serene Medersa, inspired by traditional places of learning; the Berber, with a more rustic and grounded spirit; and the Douheria, a refined sanctuary blending softness and modernity. The décor is deeply narrative, paying tribute to iconic Lebanese cultural figures. In the Fairouz Suite, soft blue tones and a private terrace evoke the legendary singer’s aura, while the Khalil Gibran room plays with shades of green and literary references, including a vintage typewriter that feels frozen in time. Materials, textures, and colors shift from one room to another, yet all share a tactile richness and a sense of soulful elegance.

A rooftop table infused with warmth and flavor

The culinary experience unfolds on the rooftop terrace, exclusively reserved for guests, reinforcing the feeling of staying in a private residence. The open kitchen becomes a stage where Moroccan traditions meet Lebanese influences, guided by seasonality and local produce. The menu is both comforting and inventive, featuring reimagined classics such as artichoke or quince tagines, vibrant salads, delicate mezzes, and revisited couscous and pastilla. Grilled dishes and homemade pastries complete the experience, while each arrival is greeted with Lebanese lemonade and freshly prepared sweets.
